Lights On in Lander started in the fall of 2000. Since that time, the
program has worked to promote the benefits of afterschool programs
by working with the schools to expand and enhance the school day.
These types of activities are designed to support the goals and
objectives of the schools through academic excellence.
Lights On in Lander also strongly support the need for the prevention
of at-risk behaviors and integrate those messages in every activity we
offer. By exposing students to quality programs and providing them
opportunities to develop critical thinking skills, we hope to reduce the
instances of risk-related behaviors.
Each year, Lights On in Lander provides academic assistance and
enrichment activities to approximately 250 students. Programs are
offered during the fall and spring semesters as well as the summer.
